Brazil called on Wednesday to ensure unhindered movement and trade flow through the El Guerguerat crossing.
"The Brazilian Government is following with concern the development of events in the buffer zone" over the past days in the Moroccan Sahara, said a statement from the Ministry of External Relations of the South American country.
"In the interest of peace and prosperity in the region, Brazil hopes that movement and trade flow at the El Guerguerat border post will be guaranteed without hindrance," the statement added.
"By reiterating its support for the process under way within the United Nations with a view to a just and mutually acceptable solution, the Brazilian Government rejects the use of violence and calls for respecting the ceasefire in force since 1991", underlined the Brazilian ministry.
The Royal Armed Forces carried out on Friday an operation to restore civil and commercial movement at the El Guerguerat crossing and secure this area, which was blocked for three weeks by Polisario's militias.
