Burkina Faso’s minister of territorial administration and internal security, Simon Compaore, reaffirmed here on Thursday the support of his country to Morocco’s autonomy plan in the Sahara.
“Our stance has not changed. Everybody knows it. It’s (the Sahara) an integral part of Morocco,” he told MAP following talks with Minister delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida.
Compaore hailed the South-South cooperation policy undertaken by Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
“We welcome the visits that HM the King has paid to African countries. This shows that Morocco plays an important role in the continent, given its significant achievements in terms of development and,” he said.
The Burkina Faso minister also hailed relations between his country and Morocco.
Bouaida highlighted security cooperation between the two countries, adding that Morocco and Burkina Faso are set to foster this cooperation.
Bilateral cooperation also covers economic and cultural areas as well as higher education, she noted.
