Tindouf camps youth group determined to step up protests against Polisario leaders' human rights abuses

Laayoune - A group of young people in the Tindouf camps expressed their determination to step up protests against human rights abuses committed by the leaders of the Polisario against the population held captive in the camps.

The group, who have been staging an open sit-in in front of the headquarters of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Rabouni since January, announced, Friday on Laayoune TV channel, the creation of the Assomoud' (resistance) association meant to defend the rights to free speech and movement, and to decent living conditions for the population in captivity in Tindouf.

"We are committed to a continued struggle to defend our legitimate rights in the Tindouf camps, run with an iron fist for 40 years by the corrupt leadership of the Polisario, which continues to inflict humiliation and exclusion on us, while haggling over our sufferings to serve its own interests", the group denounced.
