The United Kingdom welcomes "the strong and credible effort that Morocco is making to move the process forward" in order to settle the Sahara issue, British minister of state for the Middle East, Alistair Burt, told reporters Thursday in London.

The British official made this statement following the first session of the Morocco-UK Strategic Dialogue held the same day in London.

On this occasion, Morocco and the United Kingdom discussed bilateral cooperation and regional issues, including the Sahara issue.

The two sides also discussed international issues such as air and maritime security and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
